At the corner of Drayton and E Bay Street in the Savannah, GA Historic District, The Drayton Hotel resides in the historic American Trust and Bank, most recently known as the American Building.
Situated in the center of Savannah’s Historic District, the hotel reinvents one of Savannah’s oldest buildings dating from the 1890s. Carefully restored to embrace the building’s 19th century exterior, The Drayton Hotel creates an experience that is true to its historic roots and pays homage to the building’s traditional Victorian architecture and neighborhood charm.
When owner, Raghav Sapra, first visited the vacant building, he was struck by the location, architecture, and history of the building, “For over a century, the building has been at the center of commerce, culture, and has an unmatched sense of intimacy.”
Sapra believed the space “had to be true to the neighborhood’s traditions, reflect the progress, and function as an amenity to the residents of the neighborhood” to become part of the fabric of the neighborhood.
